CollectingTV Ads The AVM AV-Medienbeobachtung GmbH - a company of the AdVision group that monitors media - provides you with detailed information and collects data on TV ads to the nearest second. All commercial breaks on 28 German-speaking TV channels are captured and evaluated 24 hours a day. The video quality is more than 3 megabits per second, and the ads are recorded and digitally saved in MPEG-2 format. The following channel genres are recorded: two public German TV channels 18 private German TV channels four Austrian TV channels four Swiss TV channels The data is recorded 24/7 in real-time and kept for 15 days 1:1. There is a screenshot of every TV spot scene. Commercials are transferred to the database in real-time; new spots are available within 10 minutes. By doing this, we collect more than 26,000 new TV ads, in addition special kinds of ads such as sponsored ads or split screen. The GWA-AdZyklopaedie thus offers over 160,000 TV ads that were placed from 1996 to present on TV.
